Bathampton Morris Men

Bathampton Morris Men will dance at the Compton Inn (9pm) on Thursday 21st May 2026.
We are a traditional Cotswold Morris side, formed over 90 years ago and since then we have been dancing for our own pleasure, and for that of our audiences.
We practise from October to April in the church hall, Winsley, and if you wish to join us you can find us behind the Winsley Club. We are conveniently accessible from Bath, Bradford on Avon and Trowbridge, although members come from Frome, Chippenham, Melksham and even as far away as Shepton Mallett. Recruits can be sure of a warm welcome and active tuition, which will involve joining in with dances right from the start. A drink afterwards and good fun are two of the advantages of joining our side, as well as carrying on a living tradition and getting enjoyable exercise.
We are a men’s side at the moment although we welcome women who have danced with other sides, but women who wish to learn our heritage of traditional dances will find plenty of women’s sides such as Mr Wilkin’s Shilling (Bath), Bounds of Selwood (Frome) or Bells Angels (Holt) as well as White Horse Morris (Westbury), which is mixed. An internet search will provide the required information.
